Father's Girl:

A collection of writings from a daughter of the King

Sometimes there is simply no beating the audio-visual word!

For our socially distanced, lockdown online Christmas Carol Service 2020, I rewrote the famous poem ‘Twas the Night before Christmas to tell the story of the Shepherds and the Angels. A friend of mine read the poem and parents of our Sunday School kids sent in video clips of the children acting out different scenes. We even added socially distanced Away in the Manger at the end! I think they did a fab job! Enjoy!
Over the last few months our church has been experiencing new depths of the presence of God. I’ve usually been out with the kids rather than in the meeting, but I’ve still had more encounters with Jesus over this time than I have had in many years. After being in an outdoor jacuzzi in a downpour and then hearing rain indoors during a time of worship, I felt a poem growing inside me but didn’t have more than the first few lines. During time with God one day he told me to sit down and write it and out it poured. Here it is.

The word is our weapon

“Whether you’re in at home in lockdown or busier than you’ve ever been, or somewhere in the middle, then God has a plan for you and God put’s us in the positions we’re in for a purpose.”
